Yes! The hat patches we use are veg tan pre-cut, meaning there are no dyes or tans. It is purely raw leather. The best part about it, is as you wear it, it tans and ages just like natural leather should! Like your new pair of cowboy boots or new cowboy hat - the scars, scuffs, and scratches tell a story. After a while, you’ll receive a nice golden brown color to it, meaning it has aged quite well.
How to Wash
Do NOT put your hat in the washer and especially not in the dryer. The detergent will dry out both the leather and the thread, and the dryer will shrink and crack the leather. If you need to clean your hat, wash it in the sink with a mild detergent just like you would any other ball cap. Then, if you want to clean your leather patch, clean it exactly how you would a pair of boots; with leather cleaner and conditioner.
